Our In-Office Sleep Dentistry Options

Dr. Miller offers a variety of in-office dental sedation procedures to ensure you receive the care you need without having to fear the dentist. One of the benefits of using dental sedation is that you are able to remain relaxed while having the dental work you need performed.

• Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is one of the mildest forms of sedation and is administered by Dr. Miller. You will have a mask placed over your nose that delivers a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide to you. You will be awake throughout the procedure, but you will remain in a relaxed state. You can communicate with Dr. Miller as necessary, and once the procedure is over, you can immediately resume your daily tasks as normal. Dr. Rick Miller is proud to offer nitrous oxide sedation at NO charge.

• Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a moderate level of sedation that allows you to remain comfortable and calm throughout the procedure. You will be given a prescription for a medication, typically in the form of a pill, to sedate you. Most patients remain awake during this procedure, but if you doze off, Dr. Miller can wake you. Oral sedation is often a more moderate form of sedation, making it a good choice for those with moderate dental anxiety.

• IV Sedation

We offer IV sedation in our office. A specialist will come in to administer the anesthesia through an IV for either deep or total sedation, depending on your level of anxiety and the type of procedure. Your vitals will be monitored throughout the entire procedure to ensure your safety. You will be asleep throughout the procedure, and you will not remember the procedure happening when you awake.

I have always thought that I would better do anything but going to the dentist, even live with unbearable pain. But it is so cool that sleep-dentistry exists! It can help reduce anxiety of a person like me before a dentist appointment. It makes people more comfortable and helps them to receive the necessary dental care without the overwhelming fear that may have prevented you from seeking treatment in the past. Also, keep in mind that It is important to discuss your concerns and preferences with your dentist to determine if sleep dentistry is an appropriate option for you!
