How Long Does Teeth Whitening Last?

Patients often ask about whitening. Does teeth whitening fade? Well, no. It’s not like a suntan. It doesn’t fade over time. However, if you smoke or you drink coffee or tea or red wine, those kinds of things will stain your teeth, so it’s not a barrier to stain.

However, if you’re coming in for regular clean when we’re polishing and that stain doesn’t embed itself in the tooth, it can be polished off. If we don’t see you for three years, you’re probably going to have to whiten again. But otherwise the maintenance is easy and we give you a tray so that you can, after you’re cleaning, re-whiten to touch it up. Or we can do the in house where you come in and after an hour and a half you are white. So please come see us.
